2020 has seen the Allways Hire team grow, both in number and knowledge. We’ve welcomed new team members and qualifications as our people continue to rise to the challenge of being the best hire company in Hawke’s Bay.
We welcomed Hugo Smith to the Allways Hire team in the role of Operations Assistant after he completed his year 13 exams at the end of 2019. Since joining the business he’s added to his Business Studies qualifications by completing an Accounting Course and getting his Class 2 driving license, and Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement.
The team has also benefited from the addition of Oakley Smith and Jeremy Smith in July. Oakley champions our Marketing as well as taking responsibility for our website and finding time in between to build Master Equipment. Big congratulations to Oakley for completing his postgraduate course in Business Management this year. We know he won’t miss all those late nights studying.
We’re continuously improving the functionality and information on our website, and we have recently introduced regular emails to our customer database. These allow us to keep you up to date with news, offers, and new product launches. If you’re not already in our database you can sign up to receive our emails here.
Oakley has used the building of our Master Equipment as an opportunity to define our standard operating procedures for the Manufacturing team. Most recently he’s been working to capture the unique features and benefits of Master Equipment in a series of videos. You can take a closer look at the first of these on our YouTube Channel.
Jeremy Smith joined the Allways Hire team in July to focus on Business Development. That means that Jeremy is often out and about, demonstrating equipment for existing and potential customers and making sure as many people as possible understand the benefits of hiring Master Equipment.
Jeremy’s work throughout 2020 has led to more Master Equipment being available across New Zealand as hire companies recognise that our equipment is packed full of unique features and benefits. He has clocked up quite a few kilometres of driving time delivering machines to customers who sign up to hire or hire out Master Equipment.
It’s hard to look back on 2020 without acknowledging the impact that COVID-19 had on our year. We know that this impacted everyone, and we’re incredibly grateful to our customers who continued to support us during the challenges of Alert Levels 3 and 4.
As a service provider that supports essential services we ourselves were considered an essential service. We were able to offer a contactless service to essential services only during lockdown and our team became experts at sanitising our machines between hires to keep everyone safe.
In spite of the uncertainty and setbacks caused by COVID-19 we were grateful that our customers remained positive. As a team we used this time to reflect on the service we offer and to focus on how we can continue to set ourselves apart from the competition. We took the opportunity to invest in our operating processes and adopted LEAN principles to improve our hire system and the way that our team functions.
We’re also excited that this time marked the beginning of a phase of innovation, where we had the opportunity to bring to life the ideas and feedback of our customers. We have since upgraded the Master Sweeper, Master Grader and the Master Water Systems to be even better than they were before.
As if 2020 didn’t throw enough challenges our way, in November Napier was deluged in an extreme weather event. Our team are pleased to be part of the Hawke’s Bay community and we got involved to provide any support we could.
Some of our team members are volunteer fire people and were involved in the immediate response. A number of us are also part of the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) who helped support and provide food for those who spent over a week in the evacuation and clean up of affected houses. Our thanks go out to everyone involved.
As we look back on 2020 we are pleased with the achievements in our business and the role we have played in supporting yours. As we look forward to 2021 we are excited about the opportunities ahead. We’re planning for 2021 to be a year that is filled with innovation and growth.
Our commitment to have “hire ready” machines in our operation means we will continue to improve and grow our fleet in 2021. That means you always hire a machine or piece of kit that’s been fully serviced and maintained before it leaves our yard. The end result is you can be confident that it’s not going to break down on the job and cost you time and money waiting for it to be repaired.
We’re looking forward to a major new launch coming your way soon. At this stage it’s still top secret so we can’t share any details, but if you do want to know more, make sure you sign up for our regular email updates. We always try to make sure our customers are the first to know about new products.
We will also be focused on keeping you engaged with more great offers and promotions across the year. Our articles will keep sharing information about our machines, our business, and you, our customers. If you would like to be part of one of our case studies we would love to know more about your experience with Allways Hire. Contact marketing@allwayshire.co.nz today to take part.
We look forward to the opportunity to continue supporting your business in the year ahead, and hope you will keep sharing your feedback with our team. Your feedback helps us to evolve and innovate the Allways Hire offering and Master Equipment fleet. It also helps us to improve our service so we can continue to welcome you back as a customer.
From our team to yours, thank you again for your support in 2020. We look forward to the opportunity to grow our businesses together in 2021.
