The team at Allways Hire take special care to ensure that our machines and equipment are always ready to work. Our fleet is young and the time we invest in maintaining it means the equipment you hire is always serviced and ready to go.
As well as looking after our machines so you always get the best, we have a team of experts who can help you get a better experience from your equipment hire. We asked them to share their top tips so you can enjoy the best value from your next hire. Here’s what they said.
Jeremy Smith is in charge of Business Development at Allways Hire. He knows that the convenience of a local Hawke’s Bay operator is a big benefit for businesses based in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North. Being able to pop in and grab a machine is great if you discover you need fast access to a piece of equipment to complete your job.
If you can plan in advance though, Jeremy recommends it as a valuable way to keep your downtime to a minimum.
“When you book your hire in advance, we can make sure your machine is ready to go and all the paperwork is ready. If you need a piece of equipment to go with the machine, we can have that ready to go too. That means all you need to do is sign on the dotted line and go. “
Save some time on your next job and book your hire with Allways Hire today.
Evan Groundwater co-ordinates the hires at Allways Hire. He knows that certain equipment can be in high demand on certain days of the week. His top tip? Book your equipment hire 2 to 7 days in advance of when you need it.
“Book with us between 2 days and a week before you need it. It ensures you’ll get the right machine, at the right time when your job is about to start.”
Be certain the machine you need for your job is available when you need it. Book your hire today.
Many hire customers arrange to have their heavy equipment delivered to site. Delivery can be more efficient and convenient - especially if you don’t have the correct transportation to move heavy equipment from one place to another.
Hamish Alexander may refer to himself as a general dogsbody but in reality he’s the Heavy Transport Operator, a Mechanic and an Engineer. His time delivering equipment to Allways Hire customers has given him a lot of insight into the challenges that can slow up a delivery.
“If you want to speed up your equipment delivery, my tip is to give really clear delivery instructions. The more detailed the information you give to us, the smaller the chance we’re going to get delayed trying to find the right drop off spot. Especially if you’re on a large site or a long stretch of road.
Also bear in mind that there’s a big truck delivering your equipment and dropping off its load. We’ll need to turn to get back on the road again and if you plan that in advance it will make your drop off and pick up a whole lot smoother.”
Do you need heavy equipment delivered to your site? Contact the team at Allways Hire today and find out more about our delivery services.
David Smith is involved in the development of the Master Products range at Allways Hire. His top tip for a more efficient hire is to remember to plan your complete hire package.
“Making sure any other related materials like fence posts, pipes, water tanks, other contractors are organised for the day you pick up your hire. This will save you a lot of time.
Some machines require special attachments depending on what you want to get done. You might also need to hire Water Carts if you need to wash down or keep dust levels under control. Knowing you’ve got the right piece of equipment to get the job done simply adds up to a more efficient hire experience.”
Hugo Smith looks after General Maintenance and Yard Co-ordination at Allways Hire. He has noted that organising the right drop off location is often a priority but the detail about the pick up location often gets forgotten.
“Ensuring that the truck comes to the right place first time can avoid a lot of downtime. It needs to come to where the equipment is and it needs enough space to turn. I recommend you increase the efficiency of your hire by having a pre-arranged Key Location when you arrange pick up of your hire equipment at the end of your hire.”
Simon Smith helps to coordinate equipment hires at Allways Hire. He suggests that to get the best value you need to make sure you are hiring the right equipment for the job. Not sure what you need? Simon recommends asking the Allways Hire team of experts.
“If you’re not sure of the job you’re trying to do - talk to us. We can recommend the tools and talk you through the capabilities of the machines we have available. That makes your hire more efficient as you can be sure you’ve got the right tools for the job.”
Contact our team for expert advice. If you’re not sure which attachment you need for your job, or which piece of machinery will deliver the best results - we can help. We’ve got years of experience helping our customers get better value - and results - from their equipment hire.
Oakley Smith is in charge of the marketing at Allways Hire. He’s keen to share a tip that gives DIY’ers the opportunity to get more value from their weekend hires.
“My tip to those of you who are into DIY is a way to make your weekend hire more efficient. Did you know that even if you hire the machine for the whole weekend, as long as you don’t put more than 8 hours on the clock you will only get charged for one day?”
